Sensi Tells Cassano: You Blew Your Chance At Roma
The daughter of Roma President Franco Sensi has told Antonio Cassano that there is no chance of him ever returning to the club.
The volatile striker signed for Roma in 2001 for £20m but was involved in numerous controversies and arguments with coaches and players during his five years there.
He left to join Real Madrid in January 2006, and is now currently on loan at Sampdoria.
The 25-year-old, who has been in excellent form in his last two games, told Sky Sport Italia that he regretted ever leaving Roma and hinted that he would like a return.
“Cassano had his opportunity at Roma and he did not take it. He had his time,” said Rosella Sensi, who is also the administrative delegate of the Giallorossi.
“I am happy with our squad and we have some good players.
“Cassano’s words show that he is growing up as a boy, and he can still give a lot to the sport but for him to talk about a return now seems out of place at this time.”
Cassano has been tipped to earn a recall to the Italian national team, if he can continue his impressive form.(goal.com)
