We Have To Do More To Catch Inter - Spalletti
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti praised his team following their 2-0 victory over Sampdoria, but believes the team need to improve if they are to have any hope of catching Inter.
Following the 2-0 victory over Sampdoria, Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was satisfied with the team's performance tonight.
"The team played a tough match, it's what you need after you go through a less than brilliant period," he said. "We won the macth deservedly, so I have to give the team my compliments."
The coach then explained the decision to let Marco Cassetti play as a winger: "We needed to be cautious and have more balance. In the latest games we showed good will, but not always we managed to do what we wanted. And since we lack the physicality of some other teams, we can get problems.
"[Mirko] Vucinic is a striker, but he can also play as a winger. Cassetti did well to keep the ball and give the team substance and physical strength."
Spalletti concluded by analysing the match: "We gave away a chance at the end that was very well saved by Doni, but otherwise we did really well. Playing well just for the sake of pleasing the audience is not good. That could bring us to make mistakes we've made before.
"We are doing well, but we have to do more to catch Inter. But that's because of their merit, not our demerit."(goal.com)
