Zamparini: Roma Interested In Amauri
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini admits that the Giallorossi are interested in his Brazilian striker and he hinted that he is trying to build a team like Roma down in Sicily.
The Rosanero are currently chasing the UEFA Cup places and the outspoken chief reveals that the Giallorossi are interested in star striker Amauri and he has also revelead how he sacked current Roma boss Luciano Spalletti.
“Our objectives are to try and emulate the Giallorossi who have a side which can now impose themselves and they play some great football,” Zamparini told Il Romanista.
"I had Spalletti once in the past but I sent him packing."
The president reveals that Roma were also in contact over a possible move for Amauri.
“Roma? I think that they got in touch with Foschi (Amauri’s Agent) however with Vucinic doing so well every Sunday I think that they ought to have second thoughts.”
Amauri has been linked with all of Europe’s big clubs this season and the rumour mill has been spinning out of control everytime Zamparini hints at possible movers and shakers for the former Chievo Verona striker.
Palermo travel to relegation strugglers Parma on Wednesday night and no doubt Amauri will be hoping he can get back on the score sheet as his side look to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat away to league leaders Inter on Sunday.
